Beyond English… to French, Spanish, Italian and German
EF Hello started out in 2018 as a way to learn English as a foreign language — improving thousands of students’ opportunities through language learning. We have, and continue to do so — from enabling people who move countries to leverage their language skills to enable them to get a job worthy of their experience [Sofia], to opening up language learning to those for whom traditional learning is difficult [Minhui].
EF Hello’s main aim has always been to focus on language acquisition through conversation, as this is the most authentic (and we believe useful!) way to learn a language — you can immediately put into practice what you’ve learnt in real-life situations.
As an ambitious company who believe in the positive power of learning languages and the benefits that can be derived from being multilingual, EF Hello have been keen to develop our product to provide a more multilingual offering, whilst retaining our key values — accessibility and authenticity.
As a fairly new product and a team with great drive, we not only are keen to keep up with our users’ demands, but also with technological advances, making sure we are delivering the most innovative and intuitive learning experience in the language learning sector.
We’ve had such resounding success with our English courses — students all over the world have used them for all different reasons — from developing brain health [Jacky] to broadening their horizons more generally.
Catering to language-learners’ needs as individuals is something that is fundamental to EF Hello. Learning to speak a foreign language is a hugely personal experience, and someone’s learning journey should be molded by their own specific wants and needs. This is what makes learning a language rewarding and enjoyable — putting into practice what you learn in ways that apply to your life and experiences.
We cater for this through our literally hundreds of courses, on such a wide variety of topics, ensuring that students study what they’re actually interested in rather than follow a rigid one-track curriculum whose content may not be remotely applicable to them.
Over the last 4 years we have been developing our product, striving for excellence, but most of all, aiming to make the learning process as seamless as possible. We like to think that we’ve done a pretty good job so far (we’ve been lucky enough to be among winners of the Red Dot, iF and MUX design awards 🎉), but we never rest on our laurels.
Based on the intuitive, fun, and not to mention, successful nature of EF Hello’s courses, our students have asked us to expand — keen for us to provide other language courses for them. They loved the English-learning experience so much they wanted it for other languages on their ‘learn list’. This is a wish that we have been more than happy to deliver on!
With an ace team of linguistic experts and the solid grounding of Education First’s 50-plus years of educational expertise, EF Hello has rapidly expanded, providing courses in a number of other languages — French, Spanish, Italian and German, with many others in the pipeline.
